Types of Bean Seeds Available

French Beans

Also known as green beans and snap beans, these beans are in a tender and slim pod that is harvested before being fully ripe. These beans are best to grow in warmer temperatures and well drained soil.

Sow these seeds in the ground from late spring to early summer and regularly water them, and at the end of the season, you should have a plant full of beans ready to eat!

Runner Beans

With long flat pods, and vigorous growth, runner beans are a popular addition to many vegetable gardens.

Requiring a pole or support, these beans plants grow to be tall plants. It's best to pick the pods when they are young, as this encourages more to grow, and the older they get the more stringy they are.

Broad Beans

Broad beans are hardy plants that produce large pods filled with flavourful beans. These beans prefer the cooler weather, so can be planted in the early spring to give yourself an early summer crop.

Broad beans need regular watering, especially during flowering and pod formation. Support may also be necessary to prevent plants from flopping over.

Dwarf Beans

Dwarf varieties of French bean, or bush beans, are compact plants that are ideal for small gardens, a patio and containers. They produce a high yield of tender pods despite their small size.

Why Choose Our Bean Seeds?

It's crucial to choose the best quality seeds, which is why our seeds stand out from the rest and will help you have a garden that's blooming with all different kinds of vegetables.

Our bean seeds are carefully selected and tested to ensure high germination rates. This means you can expect a larger percentage of seeds to germinate and grow into healthy plants.

With the UK climate being unpredictable at times, our seeds should withstand the weather as they are resilient and adaptable.

Been Seed Growing and Care Tips

Growing beans is a really straightforward process but there are a few things that you need to do to ensure you get the most out of your seeds.

Different varieties of beans are perfect for different sizes of gardens and outside spaces, whether you have containers or open space will change what kind of bean seeds you should grow.

To prevent water logging, ensure beans are planted in soil beds that are well drained. After the last frost, once the soil has warmed up, is the perfect time to grow these plants.

For climbing bean varieties, such as runner beans, provide trellises, poles, or netting for support.
