Cabbage Brigadier F1

Brigadier F1 Cabbage Seeds are a ballhead cabbage variety, producing flat-round heads weighing 4-6kg, perfect for mid-late season harvesting. Known for their very good flavour, these white cabbages are high in sugar and rich in Vitamin C.

Ideal for growing large "whopper" cabbages for exhibition or heavyweight competitions.

Sowing Instructions

• Where to Sow: Early sowings can be started in trays or modules under glass at 13°C. Later sowings should be made in a seed bed in shallow drills, 2cm (¾") deep, arranged in short rows.

Seedling Care

• Once glasshouse seedlings develop their first true leaves, transplant them into trays, spacing 5cm (2") apart, or thin modules to one seedling per cell.
• Gradually harden off the seedlings before planting them outdoors, ensuring a spacing of 60cm (24") between plants and rows.
• For outdoor sowings, thin seedlings to 7-10cm (3-4") apart. When plants reach 15cm (6") tall, transplant them to their final positions with the same 60cm (24") spacing.

Growing Tip

• Avoid planting cabbages on the same soil for consecutive years. Prepare firm, fertile soil well in advance of planting for optimal results.
